  • The soybean cultivar ‘Gangpoong’ was developed for soy-paste and tofu. Suwon 223 and SS 00419 were crossed in 1999 and their progenies were selected from F3 to F5 using the pedigree method. Preliminary yield (PYT) and advanced yield (AYT) trials were conducted from 2008 to 2010, and regional yield trials (RYT) were conducted at three locations from 2011 to 2013. In RYT, ‘Gangpoong’ was stable in variable environments. ‘Gangpoong’ was determinate, with white flowers, yellow elongated spherical seeds, and a light brown hilum. The flowering and maturity dates were July 27 and October 8, respectively. The plant height was 67 cm shorter than that of ‘Daewonkong’ (81 cm, standard cultivar). ‘Gangpoong’ had fewer node numbers (16) than that of ‘Daewonkong (18) and had a heaver seed weight (30.1 g/100-seed weight) than that of ‘Daewonkong (26.0 g/100-seed weight)’. ‘Gangpoong’ showed lodging tolerance. The tofu yield of ‘Gangpoong’ was 213%, and the physical characteristics of tofu were similar to those of ‘Daewonkong (208%, standard cultivar)’. The soybean malt scent and fermented soybean yield of ‘Gangpoong’ were 2 and 105%, respectively. The yield in adaptable regions was 3.4 MT/ha, which was 14% higher than that of ‘Daewonkong’. Therefore, ‘Gangpoong’ could be cultivated and used widely for soy-paste and tofu in the near future (Registration number: 5932).
우리나라가 콩을 100% 자급했던 시기는 1965년까지이며 이후 지속적으로 감소하여 2015년 말에는 콩 자급률은 9.4%였고, 식용 콩 자급률도 32.1%로 낮아져 자급기반이 심각한 위협을 받고 있는 상황이다(MAFRA 2017). 이는 산업화 및 도시화에 따른 농경지 감소와 단위면적당 소득이 높은 경제작물의 재배면적이 상대적으로 증가하였기 때문이다. 그 외에도 상대적으로 싼 수입 콩을 수요자가 선호하는 것도 한 원인이다. 2016년 1인당 콩 소비량은 8.0 kg로 큰 변화가 없었다(MAFRA 2017). 콩에는 단백질함량이 화곡류에 비해 높고, 페닐알라닌으로부터 유래된 아이소플라본 함량이 높아 남녀노소를 막론하고 모두에게 중요한 영양원이다(Yi & Yoon 2012). 특히 콩은 1999년에 미국에서는 “콩 단백질을 1일 25 g 섭취하면 심혈관계 질환을 감소시킬 수 있다.”고 soy protein claim을 선포(FDA 1999)한 이후 세계적으로 건강식품으로 각광을 받고 있다.
최근 기후변화에 따른 반복되는 한발, 고온 및 집중강우 환경에서도 안전하게 재배할 수 있는 재해 저항성이 강한 콩 신품종의 개발이 절실한 실정이다(Koo et al. 2014). 1980년 이후 10년 단위로 전국 10a당 수량을 분석한 결과, 수량은 약 10 kg 정도 증가하였으나 최근 10년간 콩 수량의 안정성은 170.6±19.2 kg/10a로 매우 낮은 편이다(KOSIS 2017). 이는 온난화에 따른 가뭄, 고온, 수확기의 잦은 강우 등 급격한 기후변화에 따른 환경스트레스로 인한 것으로 추정된다. 이러한 재배환경 속에서도 안전다수확이 가능한 내재해성 특성을 보유한 새로운 품종을 개발함으로써 식량난을 미리 대비해야 한다(Chung et al. 2014).
따라서 경기도농업기술원에서는 식용 콩의 수급안정에 기여하고 콩 수요자가 선호하는 대립이며 재해에 강해 수량안정성이 높은 품종을 육성하고자 대립이며 황색 종피와 갈색의 제색이며 다수성인 ‘수원223호’를 모본으로, 대립이며 중생종인 ‘SS00419’를 부본으로 하여 교배하여 선발한 결과, ‘강풍’을 육성하게 되었기에 이 육성경위와 주요특성을 제시하고자 한다.
육성과정
강풍은 2002년 대립이며 황색 종피와 갈색의 제색이며 다수성인 수원 223호(신팔달콩 2호/석량풋콩)(Lee et al. 2015)와 대립이며 중생종인 SS00419(장수콩/화엄풋콩)(Lee et al. 2015)을 각각 모본과 부본으로 인공교배하였다. 2003 ~ 2004년에 F1과 F2세대를 양성하고, F3세대이후부터 계통을 전개하여 계통선발법으로 선발하였다. 2008년에 생산력예비시험, 2009 ~ 2010년에 생산력본시험을 수행하여 가뭄과 도복에 강하여 유망 시 되는 연천 10호의 계통명을 부여한 후 2011 ~ 2013년에 지역적응시험을 수행하였다(Figs. 1, 2). 시험결과 도복에 강하고 다수성으로 인정되어 2013년 12월 경기도농기술원 직무육성 신품종 선정위원회에서 신규 품종으로 결정하고 ‘강풍’으로 명명하였다.

생산력검정시험
2008년 생산력검정예비시험(PYT, Preliminary Yield Trial), 2009~2010년 생산력검정본시험(AYT, Advanced Yield Trial)을 경기도 연천군에 위치한 경기도농업기술원 소득자원연구소에서 수행하였다. 파종은 5월 27일에 하였고, 시험구 면적 19.6 m2, 재식거리 70×15 cm, 1주 2본 하였다. 시험구는 생산력검정예비시험은 난괴법 2반복으로, 생산력검정본시험은 난괴법 3반복으로 배치하였다. 농업과학기술 연구조사기준(RDA 2012)에 따라 생육특성과 수량성을 조사하였다.
지역적응시험
지역적응시험(RTY, Regional Yield Trial)은 경기 연천, 용인, 양평 등 3개 지역에서 2011 ~ 2013년 3년간 수행되었다. 재배방법은 파종은 6월 상순에 하고, 시험구 19.6 m2, 재식거리 70×15 cm, 1주 2본으로 재배되었다. 시험구는 난괴법 3반복으로 배치하였다. 생육특성 및 수량성은 농업과학기술 연구조사분석 기준(RDA 2012)에 따라 조사하였고 표준품종인 “대원콩”(Kim et al. 1998)과 비교하였다.
내병성 검정
내병성 검정을 위해 5월 상순에 검정포장에 파종하여 콩모자이크바이러스와 불마름병의 자연이병율을 조사하고, 저항성 검정을 위해 각 시험 전년도에 접종 및 증식하여 저온 보관해 둔 콩모자이크바이러스 G5(Lim et al. 2003), G6H(Seo et al. 2009), G7H(Kim et al. 2003) 균계를 지닌 잎을 마쇄하여 2 mole 농도의 인산나트륨 버퍼에 녹인 후 즙액을 만들어 초생엽 전개시 Carborandom을 이용하고 잎 표면에 상처를 낸 후 접종하였다. 접종 후 2주 접종한 하위엽에, 10일 뒤 상위엽에 병반없음(-), 갈색병반(L) 엽맥 병반(V), 모자익 증상(M), 고사(N) 등 5가지 병진으로 판별 및 조사하였다. 불마름병은 8ra를 증식하여 증류수에 희석하여 OD값 0.2 ~ 0.3으로 농도를 맞추어 제2본엽기에 충분히 분무접종하고 습식처리 후 10일 경과하고 2회에 걸쳐 잎에 나타난 병징 발현을 조사하였다.
내재해성 및 내탈림성
내재해성 검정은 내습성, 내한발성 및 내도복성 검정하였다. 내습성 검정은 경사배드에서 수행하였는데, 재식밀도는 70×15 cm, 1주 2본으로 하여 개화기에 10일간 침수시킨 후 정상적인 구의 종실중 비율로 평가하였다. 내한발성 검정은 재식밀도 70×15 cm, 1주 2본으로 하여 제4복엽기에 10일간 단수한 후 피해정도를 0 ~ 9으로 나누어 10 등급으로 표시하였다. 내도복성은 재식밀도 70×15 cm의 표준 재식밀도로 설정하고 시험구 19.6 m2의 난괴법 3반복 배치하여 도복정도를 조사하였다. 도복정도는 성숙기에 45°이상 기울어진 개체의 비율로 등급화(0 : 없음, 1 : 5% 이하, 3, 6 ~ 10%, 5 : 11 ~ 50%, 7 : 51 ~ 75%, 9 : 76% 이상)하여 반복 및 연차간 등급을 평균하였다(Ko et al. 2016). 협개열성 정도는 내도복성 검정을 위해 조성한 시험구에서 성숙한 꼬투리 30개를 성숙기에 채취하여 40°C 건조기에 48시간 건조 후 꼬투리의 개열정도를 조사하였다(Ko et al. 2016).
품질분석
단백질함량은 질소분석기(Elementar Analyser system, US/ Rapid N111, Germany)를 이용하여 분석하였고 지방함량과 지방산 조성분석은 자동유지추출장치(Soxhlet system : BUCHI Labotechnik, B-811, AG, Switzerland)에 넣고 n-hexane으로 3시간 열수로 추출한 후 지방함량을 구하였고, 지방산 조성 분석은 가스크로마토그래피(Agilent, GC 7890, USA)로 분석하였다. 아이소플라본함량은 성분분석을 위해 분쇄한 시료 1.0.g을 50% methanol 용액 20㎖에 2시간 실온에서 교반한 뒤 추출액을 여과지(Whatamn NO. 2)를 이용하여 여과하였다. 여과된 시료는 다시 HPLC용 0.45 μm필터로 여과하였다. 아이소플라본분석은 액체크로마토그래피(Agilent, 1100, USA)로 분석하였다. 아이소플라본 함량은 비배당체의 함량만 표시하였다.
두부, 청국장 및 메주가공적성 평가
두부는 깨끗한 물로 씻은 원료콩 100 g을 거름망에 넣은 후 두부제조기((주)로닉, Soylove IOM-201)를 25분간 작동시켰다. 2,000cc 용량의 그릇에 두부응고제를 털어 넣은 후 두부원액을 응고제가 있는 용기에 붓는다. 베보자기를 넓게 펼쳐서 성형틀 위에 덮은 후 성형틀 안쪽으로 베보자기를 가볍게 밀어 넣는다. 약 10분정도 경과하여 순두부가 형성된 후 국자로 떠서 성형 틀에 넣었다. 누름판을 올려 놓은 후 1000 g의 추로 10분정도 압착하여 얻은 두부의 무게를 측량하였다. 3회 반복하여 얻은 무게의 평균값을 기록하였다. 청국장은 원료콩 100 g을 7시간 침지한 후 121°C에서 15분간 살균하고 청국장 균(bacillus subtilis) 1,000μl를 접종하여 유산균 발효기인 웰빙쿠커(CSW-5521, 쿠쿠전자㈜, 한국)에 치상하였다. 24시간 후에 끈적임 정도를 대원콩을 ‘3’으로 하여 1(약) ~ 5(강)수준으로 평가하였다. 메주는 원료콩 2 kg을 세척한 후 9시간 동안 수침한 후 5분 동안 건져 놓은 후 115°C에서 40분간 증자하였다. 증자한 후 콩을 압력솥에서 꺼낸 후 넓게 펴 식힌 다음 성형을 하여 30±2°C, 상대습도 70±5%의 항온항습실에서 40일 동안 발효시켰다. 발효된 메주는 실외 건조 후 무게를 측정하였다.
주요특성 및 생육특성
강풍은 유한 신육형이며, 엽형은 난형이고, 꽃색은 백색이며, 성숙된 협색은 황색이며 모용색은 회색이고 종피색은 황색이고 제색은 담갈색이며 종실은 편구형이다(Table 1). 개화기와 성숙기는 대원콩보다 7월 27일로 3일 늦었으나 성숙기는 10월 8일로 4일 빠른 중만생이다. 경장은 67 cm, 분지수는 4개, 주경절수는 16마디, 착협고는 15 cm. 협수는 43개, 100립중은 30.1 g으로 대원콩(26.1 g)보다 대립이다. 협의 개열성은 포장 1, 실내검정 5%로 대원콩(0)보다 약했다. 착협고가 15 cm 이상이어서 기계수확에 적합하고 100립중이 무거운 특성을 지녔다(Table 2).

내재해성 및 내병충성
강풍은 대원콩보다 내습성은 차이가 없었으나 내한발성은 강하였고 도복은 포장에서 1로 강했다(Table 3). 불마름병은 시험포장에서는 1, 인공접종에서 1로 평가되어 대원콩(시험포장 7, 인공접종 7)보다 강하였다. 콩 모자이크바이러스는 검정포장에서는 발병하지 않았고 유묘접종에서는 G7H은 접종엽 무병징, 상위엽 M, G6H는 접종엽 V, 상위엽 N, G5군계는 접종엽 V, 상위엽 N반응을 보여 접종엽에서 L 반응만 보인 대원콩보다 다소 약한 특성이었다. 주요병해의 이병주율은 검은뿌리썩음병 0%, 자반병 0.2%, 미이라병 0.1%로 조사되었다(Table 4).

종실품질 및 가공적성
강풍의 품질과 가공적성 검정결과, 단백질 함량은 40.6%, 조지방 함량은 17.7%, 포화지방산은 14.0%, 불포화 지방산은 86.0%로 표준품종인 대원콩보다 단백질함량과 포화지방산 비율이 통계적인 차이를 보였다. 아이소플라본 함량은 Glycitein과 Daidzein 함량은 통계적인 차이는 있었으나, Genestein 함량과 총아이소플라본함량은 차이 없었다(Table 5). 두부가공적성 평가결과 두수수율은 213%로 표준품종인 대원콩과 차이가 없었다. 두부의 물성은 탄력성 13.0, 검성 0.08, 응집성 0.28, 경도 2.9 g/3.14 ㎟였는데, 이중 씸힘성에서만 표준품종인 대원콩보다 높았다(Table 6). 장류가공적성 평가 결과, 메주는 수율은 105%로 대원콩(100%)보다 높았으나, 발효정도는 2로 차이가 없었다. 청국장은 발효정도 3, 수율 201%로 표준품종인 대원콩과 차이는 없었다(Table 7).

수량성
강풍은 2008 ~ 2010년에 실시한 생산력시험에서 3.06 MT/ha로 대원콩보다 15% 증수하였고(Table 8) 2011 ~ 2013년에 3개 지역에서 실시한 지역적응시험에서 2.87 MT/10a로 대원콩보다 14% 증수되었으나, 통계적 차이는 없었다(Table 9).

적응지역 및 재배상의 유의점
강풍의 적응 지역은 경기이며, 파종 적기는 6월 5일이며 늦어도 6월 15일까지는 파종을 완료해야 다수확이 가능하다. 비옥지에서는 밀식을 할 경우, 빛 투과량이 적거나 통풍이 안되면 결협율이 낮아지므로 주의해야 한다. 수확기에 강우가 잦거나 수확이 지연될 경우 자반병 발생이 증가함으로 적기 수확을 해야 한다.
강풍은 수원 223호를 모본으로 SS00419를 부본으로 2002년에 인공교배하여 계통육종법에 의하여 선발된 품종이다. 2008 ~ 2010년 생산력검정시험에서 종실이 대립이며 가뭄에 강하고 도복에 강하여 다수성으로 선발하여 연천 10호의 계통명을 부여한 후 2011 ~ 2013년 3개소 지역적응시험을 실시한 결과 기후변화에 대응한 내재해성 다수성으로 평가되어 품종보호 출원 및 국가품종목록에 등재하였다.
강풍은 유한신육형이며 잎형은 난형, 꽃색은 흰색, 모용색은 회색, 협색은 갈색, 종피는 황색, 제색은 담갈색, 립형은 구형, 탈립이 안 되는 장류 및 두부용 콩 품종이다. 개화기는 7월 27일이고 성숙기는 10월 8일로 중만생이며, 경장은 대원콩보다 짧지만 주경절수는 16마디, 분지수는 4개, 백립중은 30.1 g으로 대립인 특성을 지니고 있다. 내재해특성은 대원보다 습해는 차이없었으나 도복은 1로 매우 강한 편이다. 내병특성은 SMV는 자연접종에서 0이었고 검은뿌리썩음병은 0이었다. 자반병은 0.2%, 미이라병 0.1%, 불마름병은 인공접종에서는 5였으나 자연접종에서는 0이었다. 종실의 품질특성은 단백질은 40.6%, 조지방은 17.7%, 아이소플라본은 1,707 μg/g이었다. 두부 가공특성은 수율은 213%, 물리적 특성은 탄성 13.0, 검성 0.08, 접착성 0.28, 씹힘성 1.1, 경도 2.9 g/3.14 ㎟이었다. 메주특성은 발효정도는 2, 수율은 105%, 청국장 발효정도는 3, 수율은 201%였다. 수량성은 대원보다 생산력검정에서는 3.06톤/ha으로 15%, 지역적응성에서는 2.87톤/ha으로 14% 증수하였다. 강풍은 경기지역에 적응성이 높은 품종이다.
